Wizz Air adds new European routes from Abu Dhabi
Flights to Larnaca, Sofia, and Berlin launching this November with competitive one-way fares
ABU DHABI travellers are set to enjoy more affordable access to Europe as Wizz Air expands its network this month with new routes to Cyprus and Bulgaria.
The low-cost airline, which resumed operations from the UAE capital in October, is enhancing its schedule with multiple weekly services to the Mediterranean and Central Europe.
Flights to Larnaca
Starting Saturday, November 15, Wizz Air will operate four weekly flights from Zayed International Airport to Larnaca, Cyprus. The service will run every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, with one-way fares beginning at Dh200. Departures from Abu Dhabi are scheduled for 6:45PM, landing in Larnaca at 9:30PM local time after a journey of four hours and forty-five minutes. The return flight leaves Cyprus at 12:25PM, arriving back in Abu Dhabi at 6:10PM.
Larnaca, known for its palm-lined Finikoudes promenade and turquoise coastline, offers travellers a mix of sun-soaked beaches and cultural charm. The new route is expected to appeal to both leisure seekers and weekend travellers looking for a quick European escape.
Sofia service returns
Just two days later, on Monday, November 17, Wizz Air will resume its service to Sofia, Bulgaria, with three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. One-way fares start at Dh309. Flights from Abu Dhabi depart at 9:25PM and reach Sofia at 1:10AM local time, while return services leave at 1:45PM and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 8:50PM. The route had been temporarily paused but returns due to renewed demand.
Berlin connections
Travellers looking for a crisp European winter can also book flights on German carrier Eurowings, which began non-stop services between Abu Dhabi and Berlin on November 3. The airline operates three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with return journeys on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Fares start from Dh424, connecting UAE residents to Germany’s capital just in time for its festive Christmas season.
